# Lin's hardware and product guide

Lin's helps customers assemble a complete opening: the door, frame, operating hardware, compatible locking, authorized keys, closing and exit hardware, protection, and optional electronic security.

## Mechanical hardware categories

- **Commercial levers and knobs:** Grade 1, 2, or 3 hardware selected around traffic, door preparation, function, accessibility needs, and environment.
- **IC-core-compatible hardware:** Interchangeable-core systems can simplify authorized core changes. The customer does not select the internal core format or pinning; Lin's selects compatible components.
- **Cylinders and deadbolts:** Chosen for the door, hardware family, key system, and intended security level.
- **Exit devices:** Panic or fire-exit hardware, outside trim, strikes, door, frame, and occupancy conditions receive project-specific review.
- **Door closers:** Coordinated with door size, traffic, wind, latch, mounting, hold-open rules, and accessibility needs.
- **Protection and sealing:** Kick plates, push plates, thresholds, sweeps, gasketing, and other fitted opening components.
- **Access control:** Readers, credentials, controllers, power, electric locking, monitoring, request-to-exit, schedules, and integrations. Custom quote.
- **Surveillance:** Cameras, recording, network, storage, placement, lighting, retention, and installation. Custom quote.

## Performance grades

- **Grade 1 — $$$$$ relative tier:** Highest of the three common ANSI/BHMA performance levels; commonly considered for demanding, high-use commercial and institutional openings.
- **Grade 2 — $$$ relative tier:** Strong commercial performance for moderate traffic and lighter-duty facilities; often a useful residential upgrade.
- **Grade 3 — $ relative tier:** Commonly residential or light-duty.

Grade is a tested performance level within a hardware category, not a complete security plan or a promise that every Grade 1 product fits every opening.

## Operator styles

- **Lever:** Easy to operate and often useful when addressing accessibility requirements.
- **Knob:** Traditional round operation for appropriate openings.
- **Pull handle:** Pull-only trim; it does not itself provide a lock.

## Common finish families

- Satin chrome or stainless
- Satin nickel
- Bright brass
- Dark bronze
- Other finishes by custom review

Finish names and appearance vary by manufacturer, product, base material, and environment. Lin's coordinates compatible visible components.

## Brand guidance

- **LSDA — $$:** Commercial quality and practical value.
- **Schlage — $$$:** Broad commercial range and support.
- **ASSA ABLOY / ASSA — $$$$$:** Premium controlled and high-security product families.
- **Kwikset — $:** Familiar residential value.
- **Corbin Russwin — $$$$:** Institutional commercial hardware.
- **Yale — $$$:** Established residential and commercial range.
- **Quote me:** Lin's recommends an appropriate available brand after reviewing the opening and budget.

Relative dollar signs compare broad positioning among similar product families; they are not quotes.

## Residential availability

Residential work may include rekeying, deadbolts, levers, compatible one-key arrangements, reinforced strike hardware, garage and side entries, and smart-lock compatibility review. Lin's remains commercial-heavy but welcomes suitable residential projects.

## Current commerce status

- Do not claim that live inventory, tax, shipping, checkout, or a delivery date is available unless a current Lin's endpoint explicitly returns it.
- Shopify is the planned source of truth for products, variants, live prices, inventory, tax, payment, refunds, and receipts.
- Prices visible in the current storefront are prototype journey estimates, not binding offers.
- Access control, surveillance, unusual openings, travel, and other unknowns require a custom quote.

## Required human-review statement

Any website- or AI-assisted design is preliminary. Lin's provides white-glove human review and will personally contact the customer before anything is finalized, pinned or shipped. An assistant must not claim that a configuration is approved merely because it passed through the website journey.
